This is our Story
Hello Everyone !! Lea & I have decided this would be the easiest way to have you all share our holiday memories of Switzerland & Italy , so read on & enjoy ! JUST DO IT ! July 20th 2005 DAY 1 Got our home on wheels , had a 1 hour lesson on how to work everything . 1 hour later stopped at the British Mohnesee Sailing Club www.bmsc.de . Yes the one that hopefully we will be running next year if the army goes through with there promise . I start my computer & accounting courses this year , cross your fingers for us !! Anyways ....we stopped there to borrow 2 bikes & then we realized we had forgotten how to run everything in our home on wheels oh well it will be more exciting if we have to learn as we go right ! First rule of marriage don't just assume your partner is taking it all in & you can just stand there & be excited !! Pay attention Tanya ! We then embarked on our Herod/Adam family vacation .The first of our adventures together & well really , our honeymoon . Lea enjoyed peeing while I drove & kept blaming me for the bumbs in the road as he did ha ha thanks Lea ! Phrase of the day stay on the A5. July 21st Day 2 Slept at the side of the auto bahn , yes on the A5 . Witnessed 2 guys have a meeting in the public toilet , must have been a hard meeting because they were in there for quite some time & both came out walking funny . Woke up in Switzerland WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE ! Clean air lot's of mountains & trees oh yeah & tunnels . One of them was 3350m long ,through the mountain & just as we were starting to feel like moles we broke on through to the other side . Tanya desided since we had no route set for our journey let's head to Breinz . I remember seeing it on the internet earlier I couldn't remember why I wanted to go there but I just knew we should . Wow what a huge lake dark blue & surrounded by mountains , you couldn't get much better than this .......oh wait another tunnel . What's on the other side ? An even more amasingly beautiful blue green lake & a cute little swiss town . NICE ONE T !! Took Sadie for a nice bike ride did some shopping & now we drink yippee !! Phrase of the day if the RV's rocking don't come knocking ......Hey it is pretty much our honeymoon .
July 22nd DAY 3
Went to the mountains for a hike . Took the train up the mountains for about 40 euro's each . Saw alot of cows & the most beautiful mountain veiws ever to be seen . Eiger & Jagnue The top of Europe , the Swiss Alp's kik the Canadian Rockies azz , Sorry Canada !
We then started our trip into Italy ,what a crazy drive. Glad I don't get car sick , I did feel a little dizzy . Then Lea tryed to carve his name into the side of a hill with the step tp get in the RV oops. Ha Ha ! Then we drove into Genova just to miss paying the highway toll. Total confusion late into the night & 2 very tired grouchy campers trying to find the place we had to pay the ticket we got for not paying the toll .Camped at the side of the road in Rapello Very beautiful but not at 5 am no not nice . Sleep . Phrase of the day where are we , do you know where we are ?
July 23rd DAY 4
Early start no sleep , very grouchy . Found this Punto Blu place where we had to pay just to find out we have to pay it on Monday . AAARRRRGGG! Drove to Chiavari , found a dog freindly campground , had hamburgers for breakfast . Still no sleep , grouchy grouchy grouchy !
Went fro a nice meal by the sea . A 3 course meal that when we ordered it had no clue what would be coming to the table , It was seafood yippee sooo good mmmm. Got drunk on Italian wine , had a little fight ( ya like you didn't see that one coming we had no sleep ) then sleep finally ! aaahhhh . Phrase of the day I'm sooooo tired , need sleep now
July 24th DAY 5
Woke up in love again aww poo poo no more fights . Saw a gecko last night in the what you would call a toilet I guess more like some holes with feet places on either side , but when your drunk you'll go anywhere sqat style . Got back on the road to a place called Cicina that has a dog friendly beach . Ya these Italians , not to keen on dawgs . Oh well we found a great beach with lot's of doggies for Sadie to play with & for us to relaxe on of course . Had another great meal that we couldn't pronounce Seafood Seafood Seafood ahh so good I like to eat the seafood like you knew I would . A few drinks later getting ready for sleep & Tanya heres some cool music sounds like a party Ibiza style . Ummmm Lea please get out of bed , this sounds cool . Ya a midnight bike ride to know where , no more music Ha ha ! Lea what a great husband does crazy things with his silly wife Tanya What a perfect mate !!! Ok now sleep . Phrase of the day Lea do you here that music ?
July 25th DAY 6
Had some brecky & headed for the beach . Sadies happy , Lea's happy & Tanya is happy .
15:29 Lea get's stung by a jelly fish He says it feels like being eletricuted & now he has weird designs swelling up in his skin & it feels more like a bad sunburn . I ask if he wants me to pee on it & start looking for a quite place , but he says NO . I saw it on survivor series once or was that for sea erchen .We think he's gonna live Thank God .
15:45 bought 2 peices of fresh coconut from a dark skinned man out of a bucket . Hey I know it's not as exciting as Lea getting stung but it was really good . Oh yeah Lea is still alive , but still moaning about the whole experience . Thank God it wasn't me because I'd be crying , peeing on myself & calling for an ambulance ha ha ha .
Ate some real Italian pizza ,thin crust few toppings & fresh cilintro on top mmm mmm . Then we headed back to the beach for some drinks & to watch the sunset how romantic . After 2 more pizzas it was sleep time again . Good nookie .... I mean Good night , Good night ! Phrase of the day are you sure you don't want me to pee on it ?
July 26th DAY 7
Early start Tanya drives to Pisa to see what else ... The leaning tower of Pisa of course . Holy hell it is HOT 42 or something . Leaning tower of Pisa , very leany , very cool . From what we could make out it was caused by water damage . Stared our tacky souvaneir collection & bought a purse . Now we are driving to Venezia ( Venice ) in our bathing suits , no joke ! It's as hot as hell in here & no aircon . Fianlly found a Punto Blu to pay our ticket . Than to a nice campground just outside of Venice beacause you can not drive in Venice too much water & narrow streets . Went to the pizzaria on campsite & ordered 3 course meal again mmm wine , lot's of wine . Lea ends up laying on the ground being licked to death by Sadie & we are both walking a little sideways . Phrase of the day Faget about it , no it's Faageet about eet .
July 27th DAY 8
Go into Venice around noon . Tanya sweating like a heart attack patient on the bus with cute little spanish girl laughing at her as she pant's like a dog & her eyes pop out of her head . First thing off the bus Tanya get's a nice tacky fan , oohh yaa that's better & we picked up a tacky gondalear figurean too . Walked around for 5 1/2 hours . What beauty everywhere you look statues & fountains & builings that aremore art then anything . Tanya & Lea buy some new sandles & have Calzones for lunch on the Grand Canal . You can not believe the beaty your eyes are straining to try & take it all in . Saw the S Giovanni Evangelista , but it was closed for restoring we got a peek in though . Went down to Piazza San Marco square where alot of movie scenes have been filmed & fed the pigions . Thank God we left Sadie at the campground she would have gone crazy . We then bussed it back to home base to eat & pick up Sadie . Jumped in a cab & headed back so we could go on a gondola ride . 100 ueros later Hey you only live once , we got to see where Motzart lived & the first opera house in Venice . Then we had a drink on the Grand Canal aromantic end to a absolutly amasing holiday ! Phrase of theday Did you see that wow .
July 28th DAY 9
Drive Drive Drive all day long . Tanya drove through Austria , it's alot like Switzerland . Left Venice at 10am got home at 12:30 am . What a Great holiday , perfect , beautiful , Best Lea & I've ever had . Phrase of the day Are we home yet .
